Rangers will host Ross County at the Ibrox Stadium in the Scottish Premiership. Both teams hold a very different position in the table; Rangers are currently placed at the top while Ross County is yet to make an impact, as they sit at the bottom. Both sides are separated by 21 points in the table. Can Ross County turn things around?
The table leaders have been in brilliant form this season as well. Steven Gerrard’s men look more threatening and well-balanced this year. In their last premiership game against Motherwell, they ran a riot with a 6-1 victory over their opponents. Fashion Sakala’s hat-trick pushed past the Motherwell defense to help his team secure a comfortable away victory. They will be starting without Filip Helander as he still recovers from his knee surgery, while Ryan Kent and Borna Barisic both have recovered from their injuries and could be available for the match.
In their recent Premiership game against Motherwell, Rangers took 28 shots, with nine on-target shots. Fashion Sakala did not shy away from taking shots, taking six shots, and creating the highest xG in the match. Most of their goals were scored from inside the box, while two were netted from outside the box.
So far, the champions have scored the second-highest number of goals this season. They are placed right behind Celtic in terms of goals, and goals per 90 charts. Rangers would be looking forward to grabbing a win at home and continue their unbeaten run with the likes of Junior Fashion.
After their last victory against Dundee, the spirits are high among the Staggies. Ross County were relieved as they hammered Dundee 5-0 in their last Premiership game. Cook made sure the Staggies grabbed all the points as he scored twice and claimed a dominant position in the game. This was also their biggest top-flight victory and first of the season. The club would be looking forward to keeping up with the winning ways and covering the gap as they now sit six points behind Livingston. The team will go without defender Jake Vokins who continues to recover from a broken foot.
The Staggies attempted 14 shots with seven on target. Harry Clarke’s opening goal helped the Staggies in pressing their opponent the right way. By the end of the second half, Ross Callachan and Joseph Hungbo made sure their team goes into halftime with an upper hand, followed by Cook’s double in the second half.
So far, Ross County are suffering. They have just managed to secure a single win followed by three draws and seven losses. They have also been suffering in terms of home stats as they have not won a single match at home yet. One of the major problems is their leaky defense. So far, they have conceded 22 goals, which is the second-highest in the league, while they also concede more than a goal per match.
