Loudmouth Jason Cundy has renewed his criticism of Scottish football in the wake of Real Madrid’s crushing victory over Celtic in the Champions League final match day.

The Scottish Premiership champions had a difficult night in Europe as Los Blancos defeated them 5-1 in the final group stage match, dropping Celtic to the bottom of the group.

Ange Postecoglou brought his team to the Bernabeu with the knowledge that they would not have any chance of advancing in the Champions League or Europa League playoffs.

The crushing defeat comes just 24 hours after Rangers ended their campaign with a 3-1 loss to Ajax, which gave the Light Blues their worst group stage campaign ever after lopsided losses to Napoli, Liverpool and the Dutch champions.

Elsewhere, Hearts will round off their Europa Conference League campaign with no chance of reaching the knockout stage before their final game against Istanbul Basaksehir.

Gleeful Cundy had trolled Rangers on talkSPORT after they had claimed the “worst ever” tag, and continued to take aim at Celtic after the Real demolition. He started his rant by asking: “Has seen any Celtic in Europe? An absolute disgrace.

“Has anyone seen Postecoglou? Has anyone seen Alan Brazil or Rod Stewart?

“Has anyone seen Hearts? Has anyone seen Scottish football? It’s a disgrace. Bang average! My word.”

The former Chelsea star then narrowed in on the Glasgow giants Champions League exploits: “It’s not even Halloween and you lot are out! I’m thinking do you know what, there’s no reason why these Scottish sides can’t do something.

“Then all of a sudden you realise, actually, they are miles off it. They’re not even close. They are fourth tier.

“They’ve got two points from eight games. What more evidence do you need, seriously, what more evidence do you need?

“And you’re right, money makes a difference but the reality is that Scottish football is light-years behind.”
