Interesting data has been derived from research that has been carried out that shows Scottish football is home to some of the best and worst football clubs in the UK when it comes down to a manager keeping their job.

The study was conducted by OLGB and it found that on average, a manager for a Scottish club will typically last 18 months in their job. That has put them in the middle of the road of some of Europe’s top leagues, with France’s Ligue 1 providing 1 year and 10 months, England’s Premier League offering 1 year and 8 months and Germany’s Bundesliga giving out 1 year and 7 months.

At the other end of the spectrum, Spain’s La Liga and Italy’s Serie A only provides 1 year and five months, whilst England’s Championship sees a club sack a manager after 1 year and 2 months on average, therefore it might be worth taking these numbers into account when using the Canadian site for all of your online wagering needs.

Within the study, it was found that Celtic would be the best club to manage in the entire UK, with the Hoops providing those in the hotseat at Celtic Park to enjoy a spell of five years and seven months (2,050 days).

Admittedly, the numbers may be skewed as Willie Maley did hold onto the position for 45 years and 10 months, although the club does have a reputation of sticking with a manager for as long as possible. The Bhoys have had the joint-least number of managers in its history, alongside Manchester United and Liverpool who have each had 22.

Rangers are not far behind on that figure, as they have only had 24 and will be hoping they will not have to find number 25 soon as clubs allegedly take an interest in Steven Gerrard; especially as they like to reward the man in the Ibrox hotseat with time and patience that they will not get elsewhere. An average tenure of five years and one month can be expected.

Of course, again the numbers could be skewed a little, as Bill Struth remained in charge of the Light Blues for a total of 34 years and one month.

However, Scottish clubs can also be amongst the quickest to get rid of a manager, as well.

Livingston sacks their boss on average every 16 months, whilst Hibernian pull the trigger once every 18 months on average. Ross County, St. Mirren and Dundee all make the top 10 for least time awarded, as well.
